Support Worker for not-for-profit Cintre Charity working with people with Mental Health & Learning Disabilities in our 7-bed Residential Home.
Location: Clifton, Bristol
Public transport availability: Clifton Down train station (5 minutes walk), Bus numbers 1,2,3,4 (5-10 minutes walk to stops on Whiteladies Road)
The Role
We are looking for people with experience in Learning Disability and Mental Health support.
As a Support Worker, you will be supporting our residents with their day-to-day living, social engagement, and education needs, while encouraging them to live as independently as possible. You may get involved in exciting activities outside of the home too – our residents participate in day trips, 1:1 social activity, charity events, and much more!
Our Support Worker will:
* Have proven previous experience in working with people with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health and various complex needs.
* Be reliable, friendly, and caring to help our residents achieve their everyday goals (including personal care).
* Be creative and responsive in daily support while adhering to person-centred care plans and individual goals.
* Be able to support in-house and outside social activities and hobbies.
* Be attentive and inspire our residents to achieve more.
* Be resilient and help manage some behaviours that challenge.
* Be a team player and good record keeper.
* Ability to carry out housekeeping and food preparation in a residential home.
About You
* Proven experience in the Health and Social Care sector.
* A person-centred approach and ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to plan for yourself and others.
* Manage time effectively, prioritising workloads.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
* IT literate and confident to use IT for record keeping.
Whilst drivers are able to take residents out and about, you don’t need to be a driver to work here – we employ many non-drivers too!
Shift patterns are flexible. Full-time available.
