This full-time role offers a temporary to permanent contract and is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students' emotional well-being and academic progress in a nurturing environment. As a Pastoral and Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students, providing both academic support and pastoral care to help them overcome barriers to learning. This role involves supporting students’ emotional, behavioural, and social needs, while also ensuring they engage with their education in a positive and structured environment. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and is ideal for someone eager to make a meaningful impact in students' lives. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and group support to students, both academically and emotionally. Assist students in developing positive behaviour and self-management skills. Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment. Support the pastoral needs of students, helping them overcome personal challenges and engage in learning. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents as needed. Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience in a pastoral or learning support role is desirable, but not essential. Understanding of the challenges faced by students in an Alternative Provision / PRU setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
