Teledyne Gas & Flame is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for Portable Gas Detection, primarily for the natural gas utility (distribution) market in UK and Ireland region, This position will be based in UK. The appointed candidate will be responsible for profitable promotion and growth of the portable gas detection portfolio in the gas utility market direct to end users and contractors in the UK & Ireland natural gas transmission and distribution sector as well as through specialist distribution channel partners which serve this market. The successful candidate will join the Teledyne Gas Measurement Instruments business, working as part of the Teledyne Gas & Flame EMEA sales team, and in close cooperation with the Teledyne Gas Flame UK & Ireland industrial portables & fixed systems sales managers, as well as the Teledyne GMI product management and engineering team. The role will involve managing the promotion and selling of portable gas detection products directly to end users in the gas utility market in the region. As a minimum, this will involve promoting, selling, supporting, consulting, managing the tender process, preparing quotes, and building relationships with the relevant end user customers in the gas utility industry.,
* Develop an in-depth knowledge of the portable gas detection product portfolio, via successful completion of the required sales and technical training programs and use this knowledge to promote the products to new and existing customers in the UK & Ireland.
* Responsible for achieving agreed sales targets for the region by identifying sales opportunities to meet or exceed business growth objectives.
* Build strong business relationships with the end user and industry associations in the gas utility market in the UK.
* Responsible for managing the tender process including providing quotes and relevant documents.
* Identify key end user accounts in the territory and implement a sales plan to support a direct selling structure to achieve sale growth.
* Meet regularly with existing and prospective customers in the sales territory to understand their evolving business needs.
* Prepare customer specific business plans.
* Attend sales meetings and exhibitions in the UK and internationally as part of the EMEA sales team.
* Conduct sales presentations, customer training and seminars.
* Daily use of our CRM, ERP and other IT tools (in order to provide customer information, forecasts and reports)
* Work effectively with other internal departments: Marketing, Inside Sales & Customer Service, Field Service, Product Management, and Application Engineering.
* Attend conferences and professional association meetings and promote the group product solutions and brands.
* Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information on weekly basis.

* Detailed knowledge of portable gas detection products and applications in the gas utility industry in UK and Ireland and closely aligned markets.
* Detailed knowledge in managing the full tender process in the public sector / gas utility industry in the UK.
* Detailed knowledge of competitive products and industry trends.
* Basic knowledge to provide first level of service support to customer.
* Must be able to demonstrate professional field sales record with a proven track record.
* Proven ability to train and teach internal and external customers.
