Hays Senior Finance are partnering with a PE-backed SME based in Herefordshire, supporting them with a progressive Financial Controller position. Reporting directly to the CFO, with influence across the business.
Role summary:
1. Accountable for month end management accounts process and production of board packs and group reporting.
2. Inventory and stock experience.
3. Costings.
4. The ability to manage a finance team & manage relationships with other areas of the business.
5. Drive continuously improving standards of efficiency and accuracy.
6. Preparation of timely & reliable monthly management accounts with an emphasis of providing meaningful analysis which assists managers in making decisions.
7. Managing a small Finance Team.
8. Budgeting and Forecasting.
9. Business Support of financial analysis of new products and investment opportunities.
10. Annual Accounts & taxation.
11. Manage the annual audit.
12. Day-to-day financial accounting and control.
13. Cash flow forecasts & bank reconciliations.
14. VAT returns.
15. Payments to suppliers & employee expenses.
16. Preparing board packs.
17. Supporting our growth and reducing our costs.
18. Evaluate and manage risk.
Personal Profile:
1. Professional qualification (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA) – open to part-qualified or qualified by experience.
2. Companies Act, VAT and HMRC knowledge.
3. IT focused with advanced Excel skills.
4. Excellent communication skills with a versatile, hands-on attitude with exceptional attention to detail.
5. Highly numeric/strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
