Due to our strong current workload and future projects pipeline we are currently looking for talented and motivated Planning Manager with a genuine passion for civil engineering and management of resources to join our Highways teams across the UK. This role could be based from a number of our offices and can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times.
Our highway engineering teams are recognised industry leaders and operate across several markets including the strategic road network, local roads and private developments through a series of investment programmes, professional service frameworks and bespoke project commissions. We work for a wide range of clients including national government agencies, local authorities, private developers and contractors. We use the latest design software and techniques to produce innovative, efficient and sustainable design solutions for our clients.
What does the role involve?
You will play a leading role in the delivery of highways projects within multidisciplinary design teams by working closely with our clients to understand their needs and ensuring they are met. You will be responsible for:
* Collaboratively developing and maintaining a robust detailed project programme in accordance with the contract requirements.
* Ensuring the programme captures the full scope and considers constraints and resources.
* Identification of risks and opportunities, monitoring of critical path and key milestones.
* Ensuring consistency in programmes across the Highways business.
* Leading collaborative planning meetings for our design teams and clients.
* Liaising with colleagues from across the business.
* Managing and mentoring a small team of planners.
To be successful in this role you’ll possess:
* Experience in the use of P6 planning software.
* Relevant experience in planning multi-disciplinary Highways projects.
* Knowledge and understanding of National Highways Project Control Framework (PCF).
* A relevant professional qualification e.g. IEng, CEng, APMQ, MAPM or ChPP (or be working towards).
* Knowledge and understanding of NEC4 Professional Services Contract (PSC).
* Good communication skills.
* Excellent time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions.
