Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is currently looking to hire a Purchasing Manager to join the team, with a focus on developing and implementing procurement strategies that ensure cost-effectiveness, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies for products and materials.
Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to drive cost savings.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure continuous supply.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Monitor market trends and adapt procurement strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement needs.
Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, ensuring cost management for raw materials, packaging, and third-party manufactured goods.
Knowledge & Experience:
Significant experience in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management, ideally within a pharmaceutical or other regulated industry.
CIPS qualification or equivalent (preferred).
Understanding of procurement’s role within a GxP-regulated environment.
Ability to identify and mitigate risks in procurement and supply chain disruptions.
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
Strong negotiation skills.
Highly organised and self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, capable of building relationships across the organisation
