The Role:
Education World is seeking a confident and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to support pupils in a school located in the DE22 area of Derby. This role focuses on working with students who may struggle with emotional regulation, social interaction, or behavioural challenges, helping them to re-engage with learning and build positive relationships in school.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with young people with behavioural needs, either in a school, mentoring, or youth work setting.
A calm and resilient approach to managing behaviour in a supportive and constructive way.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
An understanding of behaviour strategies and restorative practices (preferred but not essential).
A passion for helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and improved emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing one-to-one or small group behaviour support to identified pupils.
Helping students manage their emotions and behaviour, both in and out of the classroom.
Supporting teachers with behaviour management strategies.
Building trusting relationships with pupils and acting as a positive role model.
Monitoring progress and contributing to behaviour support plans.
Supporting wider school inclusion and pastoral initiatives.
