Job Title: Payroll Officer Nature of Post: Permanent, Full-time (36 hours per week), Full-year Salary: Senior Executive Officer Grade 4 NJC 26 29 (£32,076 - £34,834) St. Ronans College is a non-selective 11-19 co-educational Voluntary Grammar School which opened in September 2015. The College has around 1750 pupils and 220 teaching and support staff. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and detail-oriented payroll professional to join our team at St. Ronans College. Working closely with the Finance Manager and as part of the Finance Team, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for all tasks associated with operating the school payroll functions using sound financial management procedures in line with EA and DE requirements. The main duties of the post will be: Process and manage monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation. Manage the submission of pension and tax data to regulatory bodies. Complete and submit monthly returns to the Education Authority and other relevant bodies as required. Handle payroll queries from staff and external bodies. Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll data. Assist with audits and financial reports. Work closely with the HR department to ensure accurate staff data. Stay updated with changes in payroll tax laws and regulations. Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll systems and processes. The successful candidate will have: Demonstrable experience in a similar role. Knowledge of payroll systems and processes. An understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations. Excellent numerical and analytical skills. Strong communication skills to handle payroll queries. A commitment to ensuring the confidentiality and security of payroll data.
