What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for an Planner to join the team at Galliford Try.
The Planner role for the Framework supports the business unit by ensuring effective planning techniques are provided to support the planning, monitoring and reporting across a wide range of projects of varying scale and complexity.
You will work specifically on the Severn Trent or Welsh Water AMP programme, where our role is to provide ’s of Sustainable Urban Drainage solutions across Mansfield Town within the community areas.
Ideally, you will based in or around the Annesley area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Ensure that the programme content and functionality is compliant with Galliford Try’s Planning Processes and Procedures
2. Provide full life-cycle planning across multiple projects; bids, pre-construction and live projects
3. Review documents, specifications and scopes, identifying contract requires and major constraints
4. Provide detailed bid programmes, method statements and logistics proposals for inclusion in the final submission
5. Provide outline plans and methodologies at bid stage
6. Visit sites to ascertain conditions and constraints to be taken into account when preparing tender programmes and method statements
7. Produce detailed fully integrated design, procurement and construction stage Contract Programmes, that may also require to be fully resourced and cost-loaded
8. Use Earned Value or similar techniques to demonstrate performance
9. Prepare progress data and produce relevant progress reports
10. Identify alternative methodologies/sequences that improve project completion date(s)
11. Liaise with internal and external key stakeholders and third parties to establish optimum, compliant programmes
12. Ascertain and report progress on pre-construction and live projects, foreseeing potential delays and advising of mitigation measures
13. Use Earned Value or similar techniques to demonstrate performance
14. Prepare progress data and produce relevant progress reports
15. Develop Sectional Construction, Completion and Mitigation Programmes at relevant stages of the projects, whilst maintaining Contract integrity as required
16. Assist the Business in claims and/or disputes
17. Assist and develop Junior team members where required
About You:
18. Ability to interact with project, design and central office team members.
19. Ability to work collaboratively
20. Ability to prioritise activities in a challenging environment
21. Degree or HND in an engineering or project/construction management discipline although relevant experience or related qualification will be considered
22. Experience in planning, progress measurement, Performance reporting and change management on all project phases from front end design through to construction and commissioning gained with an engineering contractor
23. Good IT skills including software skills in Primavera P (essential), MS Excel & Word,
