Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent Pharmacist (Band 8B) to lead our pharmacy operations and ensure the highest standards of clinical and patient care. As the Superintendent Pharmacist, you will oversee the delivery of pharmaceutical services, manage regulatory compliance, and provide strategic direction to support safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Pharmacy Leadership: Act as the designated Superintendent, responsible for the day-to-day running of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with GPhC regulations, and setting a high standard of practice across all areas.
* Clinical Governance: Implement robust clinical governance frameworks, ensuring adherence to regulatory and legal obligations, and maintaining professional standards.
* Team Management and Development: Lead, motivate, and support the pharmacy team, providing mentorship and encouraging professional growth and development.
* Medication Safety and Quality Assurance: Ensure the safe and effective management of medication supply, stock control, and accurate record-keeping. Develop and implement quality assurance processes to maintain safe dispensing practices.
* Service Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the pharmacy, collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient care pathways.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, commissioners, and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment with service delivery and public health goals.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: MPharm degree or equivalent, with current GPhC registration as a practicing pharmacist.
* Experience: Proven experience in a leadership role within a pharmacy setting, ideally with experience in regulatory compliance and managing a clinical team.
* Clinical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of pharmacy legislation, clinical governance, and best practices in pharmaceutical care.
* Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
