About Us:
At Capability Scotland, our North Lanarkshire care at home & supported living services provide 24-hour care to adults in their own homes and community. We are dedicated to providing high-quality care and support services. Our goal is to empower people to live independent, fulfilling lives, and we are looking to recruit a team of compassionate and dedicated Weekend Support Workers/Community Living Assistants to join our team.
Role Overview:
As a Weekend Support Worker/Community Living Assistant, you will provide essential support to individuals who need assistance with daily activities. Your role will involve providing personal care, promoting independence, and encouraging individuals to engage in social and recreational activities, ensuring they feel valued and supported throughout the weekend. Our visits are a minimum of 4 hours, meaning you can really get to know the individuals in your care and can make a positive difference to their lives. Depending on who you are matched to support, you could be assisting them to enjoy regular attendance at football matches, day centres, shopping, sporting or cinema trips.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist clients with personal care tasks (e.g., washing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
* Support clients in managing their medication, health, and well-being.
* Assist with meal preparation and feeding when required.
* Encourage clients to participate in recreational and social activities.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
* Maintain accurate records of care and support provided.
* Work closely with other team members to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
* Follow health and safety protocols at all times.
* Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable.
* A driving licence to drive manual vehicles in the UK (our customers can often provide adapted manual vehicles for outings).
* Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* A caring and compassionate nature with a desire to help others.
* Patience and reliability.
* Ability to follow care plans and protocols.
* Ability to work either day or back shifts between 7am-11pm or sleepovers (we can be flexible to work around your availability and this would be agreed at interview).
* Level 3 SVQ in Health and Social Care (or working towards it).
* Experience working with people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or physical disabilities.
What you need to know:
It is essential that you are a driver with access to a vehicle, due to the logistical demands of this role. Hours: Relief/Bank or up to 20 contracted hours per weekend. We can offer a variety of hours/shifts, including evenings. Sleepover shifts are also available. Overtime at enhanced hourly rates is available.
