Description Job Title: Advanced Apprentice Marine Painter Location: Glasgow Salary: Starting from £18,018 with annual progression through the scheme duration. What you will be doing: The role of a Marine Painter includes working with tools and equipment that are used for the preparation of surfaces to enable specialised marine coatings to be applied. These coatings need to be applied within the correct environmental conditions within our Naval Ships site. Specific activities could include: As a Painter apprentice you will be involved in abrasive blasting, spray paint application, using state of the art equipment to conduct specialised activities or detailed work to support a final inspection of a surface warship compartment. You will also be trained in the application of state of the art acoustic and anechoic stealth tiling and specialist casting techniques. The skills you learn will be used to develop your knowledge and gain experience in a wide range of specialised marine coatings. Safe working practices and specific quality requirements for all the activities that are to be undertaken within the role of the painter will also be achieved. In addition to this, during your development, you would also be trained to a high standard in other decorative finishing’s. What Qualification Will You Get?
