Job Advert
Bedford Borough Council has delivered exceptional results on our home to school transport service. Following a restructure, the new Manager for School and Specialist Transport will oversee a dedicated team of Transport Officers within both the entitlement and operational side of the business and an in-house fleet service.
Unlike many local authorities, the current service has delivered efficiencies and is not under budgetary pressure.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in similar roles and understand the landscape of Local Authority School Transport as well as Adult Transport.
We are looking for an enthusiastic leader who will be able to drive forward the work that has already been undertaken to transform the services and take the service into the next phase of transformation through a review of policy and decision-making arrangements.
Closing date: 27th January 2025
Shortlisting: 30th January 2025
Interview date: 6th February 2025
