Your role will be to work as an integral part of the Clinical Ward Team and to be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities services in the ward area, ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
The main elements of the role are to ensure that there is a seamless approach to the provision of non-clinical services; ensuring the appropriate delivery of cleaning, catering and minor maintenance, together with other specified tasks, to meet individual patients’ needs, as determined by the Ward Sister.
Ideally you’ll have a caring and compassionate attitude, excellent communication skills and understand confidentiality. You will be able to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills and the ability to deliver high standards in all aspects of the role.
You will also have a good awareness of infection control principles with cleanliness and tidiness being an important part of your role in maintaining the working environment.
Having a “can do” approach in supporting our unit team to achieve smooth running of our department is essential.
• Ensure that personal privacy, dignity and confidentiality relating to all aspects of the Trust’s operations is maintained.
• To participate in Patient Satisfaction Surveys as required.
• To provide a focal point for individual patients in relation to their day to day non-clinical needs.
• Liaise with the Service Provider to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment and that all patients food and beverage requirements are met.
• Liaise with the Lead Sister and Service Provider, to ensure that the day’s work is planned in the most appropriate way, in order to deliver a high standard of patient facilities services.
• Undertake the cleaning of medical equipment, and other relevant items as identified.
• Ensure thorough cleanliness standards are met in the ward kitchen in accordance with contractual requirements and Food Hygiene Standards.
