As a House Manager at Foxglove, you will play a key role in the effective delivery of support, advice, and care, ensuring adherence to Foxglove’s policies and procedures. You will help create a positive and empowering environment for our service users, respecting their choices and preferences, with a strong focus on promoting independence. You will manage and support a team of skilled Support Workers, providing guidance and development to help them meet their full potential. You will also provide valuable support to the Registered Manager and act as a point of contact for concerns and actions requiring resolution.

Main Duties:
Service User Support:
* Ensure that service users are at the center of all decision-making, respecting their preferences and life choices.
* Develop and review person-centered care plans in consultation with service users, their families, professionals, and advocates.
* Collaborate with multi-agency teams to provide holistic care.
* Administer and monitor safe medication practices.
* Oversee the safeguarding of service users and follow appropriate procedures if abuse is suspected.
* Participate in the on-call rota, offering support as needed.
* Assist with Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLs) and capacity assessments.
Staffing and Team Management:
* Provide daily operational support to the Registered Manager in the management of staff.
* Oversee recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development of the Support Worker team.
* Manage staff performance, conducting supervisions, appraisals, and personal development plans (PDPs).
* Organize staff rotas and ensure the team is properly supported at all times.
* Hold regular team meetings to foster open communication and encourage feedback.
* Ensure that all staff are aware of and follow company policies and procedures.
Home and Health & Safety:
* Ensure the safety and well-being of service users and staff by overseeing health and safety procedures and conducting regular audits.
* Support the implementation of quality assurance systems and complete reports for manager meetings.
* Develop and monitor cleaning and maintenance schedules to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.
About The Role
Person Specification:
Essential:
* Qualifications: Minimum of NVQ 3 in Social Care (or equivalent).
* Experience:
o Previous experience in organizing and attending meetings.
o Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
o Proven track record of implementing care plans, risk assessments, and management plans.
* Knowledge:
o Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the Mental Capacity Act.
o Familiarity with essential safety standards and compliance.
o Understanding of team dynamics, strengths, and areas for development.
o Knowledge of CQC requirements and regulations.
* Skills:
o Strong leadership and team-building skills.
o Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
o Excellent communication and coaching abilities.
o Effective time management, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
o Proficiency in IT and report writing.
* Behaviours:
o Flexible and calm in potentially challenging situations.
o Open, honest, and approachable leadership style.
o Strong commitment to staff and personal development.
o Consistent, professional, and compassionate attitude.
Desirable:
* Full, clean driving license.
* Minimum of two years’ supervisory experience.
* Experience with rota systems and disciplinary procedures.
