Job Overview Resuscitation Practitioner BAND 7 (Paediatrics) 0.35 WTE Cross site The Rapid response Team is seeking a highly skilled and clinically motivated Resuscitation Practitioner to join our service at Frimley Health. The Rapid Response Team team supports the clinical care of all patients who are risk of deterioration or other immediately life threatening events or risk of, suffering a cardiac arrest. As the successful candidate you will have experience in the management of medical emergencies and in the development and implementation of resuscitation policies and procedures. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills The successful candidate will join a multi-professional clinical education team who are committed and passionate to delivering excellence in the trust. Main duties of the job Trust-wide role providing resuscitation expertise, advice and training to all grades of clinical staff (as identified by trusts training policy and other appropriate staff members). Therefore, the post holder must be able to respond to emergencies (as designated). Audit standards of emergency care and ensure up-to-date evidence-based practice throughout the Trust. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day provision of resuscitation services across Frimley Health with a paediatric focus but will be able to support the Rapid Response Team (adults). This is a clinically orientated role that will require the post holder to complete shifts as the Resuscitation practitioner of the day, working weekends, evenings and night shifts as required for service delivery. To advise and support the Cross site Deteriorating patient Resuscitation Committee, the Matron and Senior Resuscitation Practitioner on any additional training needs for the Trust. Organise and manage approved external Resuscitation based courses on behalf of the Trust ensuring training needs are met. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities Take responsibility for paediatric training cross site to ensure proactive training, to meet the needs of the organisation. To ensure a flexible training programme is in place to meet the needs of the trust. Ensure a robust system in place for all staff groups in Resuscitation. Ensure accurate records of resuscitation training are maintained. Lead in the provision of the Resuscitation Council (UK) Paediatric Immediate Life Support Course Lead in the provision of the Paediatric Life Support Courses (ALSG or equivalent) Assist in the admin/organisational duties/support as required for the Resuscitation Council (UK) Intermediate Life Support Course and Advanced Life Support Course Identify staff who would benefit from attendance at more advanced training. Provide scenario based training for medical ‘on-call’ groups as part of a rolling programme developing key skills of junior doctors and team leadership/decision-making skills of registrars Develop training solutions to meet needs of the Trust concentrating on e-learning based systems To lead and assist in the collection and storage of clinical data pertinent to the ongoing deteriorating patient and resuscitation audit process. To identify local audits where areas of specific resuscitation/emergency care activity require or would benefit from a clinical review. Work in conjunction with the Patient Safety Team to collect data relating to topics relevant to the deteriorating patient, Resuscitation and relevant National patient safety alerts.
