Role Overview
MELD is a community-based substance use agency providing recovery services in Midlothian and East Lothian. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our recovery team. This role involves providing advice, information, and support to individuals experiencing difficulties with substance use and related issues.
Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality services for individuals with substance use issues.
* Work effectively as part of a dynamic team and in partnership with statutory services.
* Support individuals in different phases of their recovery, from initial engagement to options for education, training, volunteering, and employment.
* Facilitate the evening running of the Therapeutic Community programme at Rae House Residential Service.
* Monitor and administer medication to service users.
* Provide practice supervision to volunteer counsellors, if applicable.
Qualifications:
* An appropriate qualification (SVQ level 3 or above) in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
* At least 1 year of demonstrable experience in a recovery setting with clients who have difficulties with substance use.
* A full driving licence and own transport are essential.
* An understanding of the complex issues presented by individuals within drug and alcohol recovery.
* Knowledge of adult protection is essential as you will be working with vulnerable adults in a residential setting.
