We have an exciting opportunity to recruit dedicated and enthusiastic Physiotherapists to our Respiratory Physiotherapy Service at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as a 12-month Rotational Band 6. The team covers all aspects of the respiratory patients journey, from intensive care to ward-based rehabilitation. Rotations include adult critical care (general and cardiac), respiratory medicine, cystic fibrosis, cardiology and surgeries (cardiac, thoracic, upper and lower abdominal), with each area led by an experienced band 7. Service delivery over 7 days a week and on call participation are required.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate post graduate experience and clinical knowledge of the assessment and management of respiratory patients. They will be required to demonstrate an ability to work as an autonomous practitioner, and as part of multidisciplinary teams for the best outcomes for our patients. Good communication skills and respectful behaviours are essential.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role are the assessment and treatment of a wide variety of patients with respiratory conditions in a range of environments. You will carry your own caseload and be expected to work flexibly to time manage this alongside other commitments you may have. You will work closely with the Band 7 team leads and Clinical Specialists to clinically manage more complex conditions depending on your level of experience and at times lead the service in their absence.
Training and development are a crucial part of this role, particularly supporting newly qualified and unregistered staff to have regular educational support and also other members of the MDT where applicable. Alongside this there will be opportunities to be involved in aspects of clinical audit, quality improvement, governance and research.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent
* Attendance on relevant postgraduate courses
Experience:
* At least 18 months experience working as a physiotherapist
* Working with a wide range of professionals including medical, nursing and therapy colleagues
Skills:
* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
* Ability to prioritise, organise and allocate workload
Knowledge:
* Insight into clinical specialty e.g. thorough academic study at post graduate level or equivalent
