Are you a proven Commissioning Manager with experience in opening and leading new care homes? This is a rare and exciting opportunity to launch and lead a brand-new care home in Old Malton, North Yorkshire.
Opening in Summer 2025, Manor Park Care Home will be an 80-bed, state-of-the-art facility, offering luxury residential, nursing, and dementia care. We are looking for an experienced leader to drive the commissioning process, from recruitment and occupancy growth to building key relationships and ensuring outstanding care delivery.
Your Role as Commissioning Home Manager
As the Commissioning Home Manager, you will have full responsibility for the successful opening and long-term success of Manor Park. Key responsibilities include:
1. Driving occupancy – Creating and implementing a strategy to attract residents and build a strong reputation.
2. Building your own team – Leading the recruitment process in partnership with Sandstone’s central support services, phasing recruitment carefully to minimise reliance on agency staff.
3. Financial leadership – Ensuring profit and loss aligns with the agreed budget.
4. Governance & Compliance – Maintaining CQC compliance, risk management, and business governance to ensure high standards.
5. Health & Safety – Keeping up to date with all health and safety regulations.
6. Stakeholder relationships – Building strong partnerships with local authorities and external agencies.
7. Marketing & reputation building – Developing marketing initiatives to establish the home’s presence and drive enquiries.

What We’re Looking For:
1. Proven experience as a Commissioning Home Manager – successfully opening and leading a new care home.
2. Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD) or significant operational experience within elderly care.
3. Strong commercial acumen – experience managing budgets, P&L, and financial targets.
4. Extensive knowledge of CQC regulations and governance best practices.
5. Strategic recruiter & leader – able to phase recruitment and build a strong, stable team.
6. Proactive and marketing-savvy – experience in driving enquiries and growing occupancy.
