Brownlee Cale are recruiting for a Protection and Control Design Engineer to play a key role in a project in Middlesbrough.
The role of a Protection and Control (Secondary) Design Engineer includes:
1. Should ideally possess a working knowledge of relevant and applicable British and International Standards including ENA G99 and application of DNO's G81 policies and procedures.
2. Identify and ensure design compliance with all relevant standards, legislation, customer requirements, DNO standards and contract specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
What you'll need:
1. A Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems Electrical preferred).
2. Previous experience with consultancy, contractor or utility in the Power industry.
3. Demonstrable experience in the design of complete HVAC protection systems ranging from 11kV to 132kV from previous roles and projects, ideally extending experience into 275kV and 400kV electrical projects.
4. Have a working understanding of industry HV and EHV substation installation standards and specifications within the UK.
5. Has the ability to demonstrate a pro-active approach to activities and problems.
6. Coordinate with other design disciplines (i.e. structural design, planning, primary electrical design, procurement, CAD technicians) efficiently and effectively to deliver complex design solutions.
7. Has some prior experience in writing and understanding technical documents relating to all aspects of protection systems.
8. Ability to prioritise workloads in a proactive and organised fashion.
