Mane are looking for an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor to join their client on an exciting Gas peaking power plant in Thurrock, Essex.
As the ideal candidate, you will have experience working on similar projects and be well experienced with E&I.
The project will run from 12 months - 18 months.
* Support the Construction Manager in overseeing and monitoring all Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) activities.
* Ensure all tasks are carried out with the highest safety standards at all times.
* Manage the installation and testing of Electrical, Instrumentation, Communications, Telecoms, and Fire & Gas (F&G) systems.
* Supervise Electrical installation and testing across HT, LT, MV, and LV systems.
* Oversee Instrumentation certification and installation processes.
* Troubleshoot E&I system and programming issues.
* Ensure compliance with Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and manage documentation compilation.
* Coordinate effectively with other Building Services teams.
* Ensure full compliance with safety protocols and project schedules.
* Monitor workforce productivity against budgeted man-hours.
* Lead and manage Foremen, Chargehands, and work crews.
* Verify materials and installations meet project specifications.
* Conduct on-site inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
* Review Method Statements and assist crews in preparing FLRAs (Field Level Risk Assessments).
* Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
* Carry out system line checks, field instrument inspections, and certification.
* Execute calibration, functional checks, loop checks, and related testing.
* Conduct system walk-downs, line checks, and punch-listing.
* Resolve punch-list items and ensure proper closure.
* Experience in Pre-commissioning & Commissioning (Pre-com & Com), as well as system validation.
* Maintain close coordination with project teams and other trade members.
* Review and interpret construction and shop drawings.
* Manage sub-contractors, monitor progress, and provide reports.
* Oversee walk-downs, punch-list management, and issue resolution.
* Liaise and coordinate with clients and quality personnel (QP representatives).
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Background in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) trade.
* Minimum of 5-10 years of post-qualification experience.
* Strong understanding of good engineering practices.
* Proficient in reviewing and interpreting construction drawings.
* At least 5 years’ experience in Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, or Heavy Industrial sectors.
* Familiarity with Permit to Work environments.
* Experience working on Fast-Track projects.
* Physically fit and prepared for a construction/site-based Oil & Gas environment.
* Independent, proactive, and capable of working in field supervision roles.
* Willingness to work extended hours as required by the project.
* Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
