About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Spanish-speaking Treaty Broker to join a leading Lloyds broking firm. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to work closely with international cedants and reinsurers, particularly across Latin America and Spain.
You will be responsible for placing treaty reinsurance business into the London and international markets, building and maintaining client relationships, and ensuring excellent service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage relationships with clients and reinsurers across Spanish-speaking territories
* Structure, negotiate, and place treaty reinsurance programmes (both proportional and non-proportional)
* Analyse client portfolios and reinsurance needs in coordination with internal actuaries and analysts
* Prepare and present renewal strategies and placement slips
* Maintain awareness of market trends and opportunities in Latin America and Iberia
* Coordinate with compliance and operations teams to ensure contract certainty and regulatory standards are met
* Attend international client meetings and industry events as required
Requirements:
* Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written)
* Previous experience in treaty reinsurance broking or underwriting
* Solid understanding of reinsurance principles and products
* Strong negotiation and presentation skills
* Excellent organisational and analytical abilities
* Comfortable working with international clients and across time zones
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
* Knowledge of Latin American reinsurance markets
* ACII or equivalent insurance qualifications
* Experience working with Lloyds and London Market systems
