Following an internal restructure, we are looking to fill the following vacancy within the café at our busy livestock mart, at Rosehill, Carlisle.
The role will include:
* Preparing hot and cold meals, in accordance with previously agreed menus.
* Organising the catering for off-site events as required.
* In liaison with the Facilities Supervisor planning menus in line with demand levels in relation to sale days and budget.
* Assisting with the cleaning and storage of all crockery and equipment and ensuring that the overall cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas is carried out effectively.
* Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies ensuring value for money with suppliers.
* Maintaining a pantry stock record in relation to usage dates and to rotate stock items as per established procedures.
* Ensuring that food items are stored at appropriate temperatures.
The successful applicants will:
* Have good communication skills.
* Be flexible and self-motivated.
* Be able to work quickly under pressure whilst remaining calm and polite in all circumstances.
* Have an understanding of health and safety regulations relating to a catering establishment.
