Community Board Member

The Board was set up in 2017 to communicate community’s views on the strategic issues affecting ferry services across the network. Since then, it has worked on a number of initiatives including service improvements and infrastructure development with a focus on economic sustainability. It is separate and independent from CalMac, CMAL and Transport Scotland other than the provision of secretarial and logistic support.

The Ferries Community Board for Clyde & Hebrides are looking to appoint new members.
\n
We are seeking energetic individuals who live within the communities that are served by CalMac Ferries and who wish to make a difference by proactively engaging with a variety of community groups to seek out their views and opinions.
\n
This is a voluntary role. You will be passionate about being a voice for people who live in the communities that we serve.
\n
Applicants should demonstrate their knowledge and experience of how lifeline services affect island communities at a strategic level.
\n
We encourage diversity in membership and are particularly keen to recruit from a wide demographic including youth and accessibility.
\n
Membership will be for 36-months. The Board meets quarterly with travel and reasonable out of pocket expenses reimbursed. You will also be required for one informal evening meeting per month.
\n
The closing date for receiving applications is 27th April 2025. Interviews will take place during May 2025.
