Baby Feeding Practitioner
25.5 Hours Per Week on a Rota Basis
£16,482.54 per annum
Temporary until 31/3/26
The role will include the following duties:
* To ensure all families have access to breastfeeding support when they need it. This will include hospital and home birthing
families.
* To attend home visits when required to support mothers in their own home. This will also include weight checks, risk
assessments, plans of care and follow-up support.
* To assist with regular ward inductions for breastfeeding peer support volunteers.
* To attend promotional events and distribute promotional material across the city to Family Hubs and Health Centres.
* To improve the service through continuous evaluation and review with the involvement of stakeholders.
* To collect discharges from hospital and telephone mothers to check on support needs, implementing support packages where
appropriate, including liaising with other health care workers.
To be successful in this role you will:
• Understand the issues and current guidance around breastfeeding
• Have access to own transport
• Experience of multi-agency working
• An understanding of cultural awareness and experience of working with diverse groups
