Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise, and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) post based in East Lothian Community Hospital.
This is a new post supporting the reconfiguration of Older People’s Services in East Lothian Community Hospital (ELCH). The post represents a unique opportunity to help shape and coordinate care for older people in East Lothian in a variety of settings.
This post will support the expanded rehabilitation and Hospital Based Complex Clinical Care (HBCCC) services based at East Lothian Community Hospital. The post also includes the chance to develop the Parkinson’s disease service for older people in East Lothian. There is a regular commitment to MoE on call based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE). The successful applicant will join a supportive and dynamic senior medical team dedicated to the provision of excellent care to the frail elderly as near to their home as possible. We also provide high-quality postgraduate and undergraduate training and have a number of regular opportunities to support those training in advanced practice from nursing and AHP backgrounds.
