Position: Technologist - Clothing and Apparel Location: Kettering Shift: 37.5 hours per week Start Date: February 2025 Pay: £25,000-£27,000 depending on experienceACS Staffing Solutions are working with a well-established client in Kettering who are looking for a technologist to join their Safety Product Testing department. This role primarily focuses on a wide range of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), ensuring that the products meet a minimum threshold and level of protection. These will include (but not limited to) gloves, fall protection, motorcycle garments, eyewear, helmets, kneepads etcAs a Technologist in the Safety Products Testing team, responsibilities include understanding international standards for PPE testing, utilizing test equipment to generate results, recording and calculating results electronically and on paper, preparing test samples, maintaining laboratory tidiness, and assisting technologists during customer visits. Comprehensive training will be provided for all aspects of the role as needed.As a technologist within the Safety Products Testing team, you will be required to carry out the following: Read, learn and understand international standards for testing PPE Use test equipment and machines to generate results Record and calculate test results, both electronically and on paper for use in reports Prepare test samples prior to testing Maintain tidiness of laboratory and maintain sample storage You may also be required to assist technologists in customer visits to the company during visits and seminars Training will be provided for all aspects of the role where required About You You have GCSE’s (or equivalent) in the subjects of English and Mathematics, minimum grade C. You are highly organised, enthusiastic and able to work independently and as part of team. You are confident and competent in the use of Microsoft Office products, in particular MS Excel and MS Word.
