We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of DQM Verification Lead.
The Group’s Risk Management Framework (RMF) requires robust and independent testing and assurance of the management of material risks and controls across HSBC’s non-financial and financial risk taxonomies. This role is to lead the team dedicated to delivering oversight of Deterministic Quantitative Methods (DQMs) and will undertake independent review and verification of these DQMs to ensure, amongst other things, that they are fit for purpose and working as required.
In this role, you will:
* Review and approve reports prepared by the team, ensuring accuracy and alignment with policy and regulatory requirements.
* Provide oversight and guidance to the team on the review of DMQs, ensuring they are fit for purpose and operating as expected.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication to deliver the broader set of Global Model Risk Governance deliverables.
* Contribute to Transformation Programmes within the region engaging and assisting in the identification and mitigation of risk. Including early intervention in new designs ensuring DQM Risk is thought about from the beginning.
* Lead, mentor and support the development an offshore team, ensuring alignment with assurance objectives, fostering a culture of intellectual thinking, continuous improvement and professional growth.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* Experience in assurance, audit, finance or model risk management within financial services or other major industries.
* Knowledge or experience of model/DQM/EUC validation, verification, developing would be beneficial.
* Strong networking and stakeholder management kills, with the ability to work effectively in a matrix structure while minimising conflict.
* Team-oriented mentality combined with ability to complete tasks independently to a high-quality standard.
* Proficiency in complex calculator type tools, with the ability to provide oversight and guidance.
This is a hybrid role and can be based in Birmingham, Chester or Edinburg with a requirement to be in the office at least twice a week.
