The Role
FSM seek a motivated, ambitious and competent starter, looking for an opportunity to fast-track their goal of becoming a leading professional in the events industry.
The role will initially work on an established consumer event brand, plus one trade event. This portfolio takes place across the world, from Brussels to Sydney. All these events have strong reputations and exciting futures and require the right person to help drive them forward.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine interest in events and be able to apply their enthusiasm to a variety of subjects and activities.
The candidate must have a proactive ‘can do’ approach, the ability to work under pressure and be excited by the opportunity to contribute to, event management, visitor marketing, account management.
The successful candidate must be highly organised, creative and commercially minded and understand that all event disciplines (marketing, sales, operations) need to work cohesively in order to deliver results.
Exceptional communication skills are critical; written and face-to-face.
Specific role responsibilities and required skillsets
The successful applicant will report directly to the Portfolio Director and work closely with the team to help deliver successful events. Specific responsibilities include assistance in:
- Planning, writing and executing marketing copy.
- Maintaining event websites.
- Writing posts/Managing social media channels.
- Identifying advertising opportunities, negotiating costs and implementation.
- Producing promotional artwork for campaigns using Canva (training given).
- Supporting sales and marketing teams with emails using Mailchimp (training given).
- Helping to meet sales revenue targets.
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with exhibitors, sponsors and partners, including signing them up for the next events.
- Arranging and taking prospect sales meetings.
- Maximising delegate sign up for our B2B event.
- Helping with operational jobs like collecting speaker information, furniture/graphics orders and liaising with venues.
- Work onsite during the build, open and breakdown periods of FSM shows.
Working Structure
- Permanent role, 37.5 hour week
- 22 days holiday (exclusive of three-day Christmas office closure and all UK bank holidays)
- Some weekend and evening work will be required during events
