Essential Criteria:
* 2 years experience of milking and general stock person work
* Capable of working on own initiative in the best interest of the herd

Our Farm
We are a well-invested forage-based farm covering 340 acres. Our 225 cows are milked twice daily through a GEA Westfalia Parlour, and all our records and data are kept up to date using Uniform. The milk is supplied on a Waitrose premium contract. Our herd is calved all year and has access to grazing. We have a small, friendly team of 2 others and will happily provide training if needed.
Responsibilities:
As a Herdsperson, you will support the farm team with the smooth running of the dairy unit. Roles and responsibilities will include:
* Daily management of the herd and ensuring animal welfare are the top priorities.
* Milking to a high standard, ensuring the parlour is kept clean and safe to operate.
* Treating & identifying illnesses and informing the senior team of any observations.
* TMR feeding and be responsible for calculating rations and feeding accordingly.
* Supporting with grass management when needed.
* Supporting with dry cow management, calving cows and colostrum protocols.
* Keeping the overall farm tidy and safe to operate.
* General stock person & yard work
Requirements
* A full UK Driving license.
* Proof of UK right to work
* Telehandler license with extensive experience operating one
* AI qualification required
* Demonstrate previous experience in dairy farming
* Be enthusiastic, alert and able to utilise data effectively
* Show quality organisational skills and high attention to detail
* Have a positive working attitude and want to succeed
