Role: Residential Childcare Support Worker

Salary: From £30,000 per annum, inclusive of enhancements
Hours: 37 hours per week, plus 10 sleep-in shifts per month and overtime opportunities
Roster: 4 week rolling roster to include some weekends and Bank holidays

About the Role
As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will perform a vital role in our children's lives, working as part of a team, and being a responsible, trusted ‘parent figure’ for looked-after children.
Your responsibilities include:
Building strong, positive relationships with children who have experienced traumatic and difficult backgrounds
Supporting their educational and emotional development, helping them to heal and thrive
Planning and co-ordinating engaging, fun activities, encouraging the children’s leisure interests
Ensuring a structured, safe, comfortable home environment
Following regulatory processes which includes good administration and recording of information
About you
To succeed as a Residential Childcare Support Worker, we’re looking for candidates who are:
Dedicated to child safeguarding
Empathetic and effective communicators, able to form trusted, meaningful relationships with children
Passionate about making a positive difference in children’s welfare
Resilient and patient, capable of handling challenging behaviours
Proactive and creative in activity planning
Capable of practical ‘life skills’ including cooking, cleaning and good home management
Detail-oriented and competent users of IT, to ensure that every child’s needs are met and documented in line with regulatory expectations and standards
Essential must haves
A valid UK driving licence, proximity to Bournemouth, Ferndown and Ringwood with a willingness to pursue relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 4 in Children, Young People & Families Practitioner.
