RWE Supply & Trading is the interface between the RWE Group’s operating companies and global wholesale markets for energy and energy-related raw materials and is a leading European energy trading house. The SRE Engineer role is focused on providing and maintaining applications & infrastructures with emphasis on cloud native tools stack, maintenance/coordination of releases, governance. SRE Engineers ensure reliability of systems, scalability, high availability, IT service continuity management and monitoring by fostering collaboration between development and business teams.
Your responsibilities
* Ownership of infrastructure related tasks (create support model, request Infrastructure, apply Service Level Agreement requirements, effort planning, presentation to internal Technology Forums)
* IT Service Continuity Management (create or support Business on disaster recovery descriptions, ensure Service Continuity for critical services)
* A strong understanding of SQL and ability to work with large datasets.
* Ability to work through the whole SDLC (software development lifecycle) including an understanding of pipeline deployments through Azure DevOps or similar.
* Involvement in migration of legacy application to Cloud based projects (AWS) / Multi-account setup etc.
* Automate the build, test and deployment of different components with Azure DevOps pipelines and migrations
* Experience with AWS and able to utilise EC2/EKS/S3/Lambda.
* Communication management towards business stakeholders.
* Play a coordinating role in change, incident, problem, knowledge management activities
* Guide, consult and advise other DevOps Engineers
Your profile
* Development / Refinement of relevant Standard Operating Procedure (end-to-end IT Service Management process).
* Experience in working with any Cloud Native technologies (AWS, Azure)
* Fundamental experience in CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab or similar)
* Experience with Git or other versioning tool.
* Experience working with Python, Java, C#, .NET core
* Experience with frameworks like Camel or Maven
* Good understanding of ITIL processes
* Ability to work well under pressure and strong communication.
* Very high motivation to learn and grow.
Advantageous, but not a must
* Cloud Native environment in AWS Multiaccount setup, EC2, Kubernetes, Containerization, Docker, S3 buckets etc.
* Profound scripting skills (e.g. in Shell, Python, Bash, JSON)
* An understanding of Terraform or similar infrastructure code.
* Experience with MicroStrategy or similar business intelligence reporting tool.
* Basic understanding of Snowflake, Databricks and Dremio.
* Experience with Elastic (ELK) or other similar monitoring platform.
