Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
It is an exciting time to be joining Ashford and St. Peter's NHS Trust. We are looking for an inspirational and energetic nursery nurse to work as part of our multidisciplinary team to provide care for newborn infants and assist parents. You would be working alongside midwives, nurses, maternity support workers, and doctors.
As a nursery nurse, you would be expected to provide a high standard of care to neonates and their families. This will include assisting mothers with feeding and nurturing advice and support, providing direct clinical care to the newborn, and helping to support parents to develop their skills and confidence.
The role covers a 24-hour service, and the post holder will be expected to participate in night duties and weekend working.
ASPH is proud to have a level 3 Neonatal Unit, and our experience varies from supporting uncomplicated pregnancies to developing care plans for our high-risk maternal and fetal medicine service. Our multidisciplinary NICU and maternity team provides the best outcomes for babies that require their specialist care.
We pride ourselves on our working culture, and the senior leadership team strives to improve the wellbeing and satisfaction of our colleagues. ASPH has a wellbeing hub, and staff have the opportunity to access the onsite gym and other resources. So why not come and work in a team that is friendly and participate in shaping our future workforce?
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to have an awareness of the cultural, physical, and emotional needs when assisting parents/carers in caring for their newborn baby. This will include having knowledge of safeguarding and liaising with the safeguarding teams when required.
