Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Liverpool Women's Hospital Education and Training team covering specifically the Gynaecology Division.
We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for teaching, will empower staff to achieve their learning goals, provide leadership to all staff across the division, and be a role model for education and training.
Main duties of the job
1. To support staff in clinical areas to develop and maintain clinical proactive knowledge and skills which will enhance the clinical competence of individuals and teams in all areas of Gynaecology.
2. To act as a role model for pre and post registration staff and learners in Gynaecology.
3. To provide cover in urgent situations for clinical practice roles as and when appropriate as part of escalation processes.
4. To be a cascade trainer for a range of key clinical skills to include manual handling, pressure ulcer prevention, hand hygiene and others as deemed necessary.
5. To provide expert advice and teaching in clinical practice - practical mentoring and support.
6. To support Matrons and ward leads to implement new policies and guidance (and associated learning) as necessary across the directorate.
7. To be responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of compliance with statutory and mandatory training KPIs across the division.
8. To be proactive in keeping the division on target with training KPI targets and to formulate action plans when compliance is at risk to prevent non-compliance.
9. To work closely with Learning and Development Team to form good working relationships, to ensure a unified approach to staff development across the Gynae division.
10. Support the Matron and wider members of the Divisional Management team in achieving the strategic objectives for the Division and the Trust.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Registered General Nurse- NMC or Registered ODP HCPC
* Recognised teaching/ mentorship qualification ( ENB998 C&G 703 or equivalent)
* Evidence of ongoing dynamic continuing professional development
* Evidence of Higher education study
* Attendance on Leadership Training Course
Skills
Essential criteria
* Evidence of teaching / presentation skills
* Good clinical skills
* Ability to understand, evaluate, analyse and present complex data
* Skills for managing patients admissions and discharges, assessing and advising patients/ relatives in crisis situations
* Proficient IT Skills
Experience

* Experience of working as core member of multidisciplinary team
* Experience of delivery of key clinical skills training - Manual Handling, Hand Hygiene, Pressure ulcer prevention etc
* Recent clinical experience at a senior level
* Experience of development and delivery of work based training opportunities
* Experience of conducting Appraisals as part of the PDR process in clinical practice
