This post is for a Trainee Internal Auditor. The post holder will be supported through an agreed training programme. The post holder will work towards meeting the requirements of this Band 6 Audit Principal job description and person specification. The post holder will be supported in their professional studies with financial and study support for an approved qualification. Upon appointment, a specific three-year training programme will be agreed.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be contracted on Annex 21 - 65% of £44962.00 which is £29,225 pa and will be required to:
1. Undertake and manage an individual, long-term programme of professional training and pass exams in accordance with the professional training schedule set out by 360 Assurance.
2. Develop competencies in line with the requirements of all aspects of this job description.
3. Represent 360 Assurance and NHS in a professional manner.
4. Adhere to policies, procedures, guidance and relevant professional standards at all times.
5. Engage with and work with 360 Assurance colleagues to deliver and present quality internal audit and consultancy work to clients.
An example outline of the qualification element of the expected three-year training programme is provided in Appendix 2.

Person Specification
Essential
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
* Basic understanding of the NHS Structure and NHS Objectives.
* Commitment to Equality & Valuing Diversity Principles.
* GCSE Qualification (or equivalent) must include English language/literature and Maths at Grade C or above.
* Experience of working in an office environment.
* Ability to work in a team and be a good team player.
* Experience of presenting findings from own work in a formal environment with little or no supervision.
* Experience of having conducted and/or facilitated meetings to obtain and/or present information, including the need to use conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
* To be a fast learner who can pick things up quickly and work in a rapidly changing environment and have a confident approach.
* Ability to manage and deliver multiple tasks, including own workload and that of staff managed, within tight timescales and to set deadlines within a constantly changed and pressured environment.
* Able to demonstrate customer focused professional approach, and display professionalism at all times.

* Qualified in relevant CCAB/IIA professional qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience to support in-depth experience in the Internal Audit field - either the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) or a CCAB accountancy qualification, e.g. ACCA.
