We have an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Vehicle Technician. As an apprentice, you'll play a key part in supporting the maintenance and repair of a range of vehicles, learning diagnostic skills, and gaining a comprehensive understanding of the automotive industry.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Work alongside skilled technicians to inspect, diagnose, and repair various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
* Perform basic service tasks.
* Learn to use diagnostic equipment and software to identify vehicle faults.
* Ensure a clean, safe, and organised workspace by following all health, safety, and environmental protocols.
* Assist in completing service records and maintenance documentation, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
* Attend and participate in all training sessions with Mantra Learning.

* Access vehicle technical data to inform inspections and make judgements on wear and serviceability.
* Comply with environmental and sustainability procedures, regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling, and disposal.
* Apply vehicle safety inspection and routine maintenance procedures using vehicle specific data on car, car derived van or light goods vehicle.

* Apply state-of-health condition monitoring tests to high voltage batteries and chargers for electrified cars, car derived vans, or light goods vehicles.
* Apply four-wheel geometry checks and adjustments to cars, car derived vans, and light goods vehicles.
* Apply safe working practices and procedures to isolate electrified vehicles for maintenance.
* Record vehicle service maintenance, parts replacement, or repair.
* Apply customer service principles and organisational customer care practices. For example, identifying customer and vehicle needs, resolve low level customer complaints, make recommendations to customers based on results of inspection, maintenance, or repair of vehicles, customer payment transactions and organisational sales processes.
* Provide quotation of cost and order automotive parts, products, and consumables applicable to the vehicle.
* Apply procedures for stock and parts storage: ordering, checking and stock rotation.

You will be employed by, and spend 4 days of your working week at:

* The 5th day of your working week will be spent at Mantra Learning, Greengate, Middleton, Manchester M24 1RU

The Level 2 Autocare apprenticeship will be delivered over 19 months with the potential to progress onto Light Vehicle Level 3 which will last a further 24 months.
