Suitable candidates should hold a minimum of a level 3 qualification and have experience working in a nursery.
Term-time only, 38 weeks.
Candidates will preferably hold an up-to-date First Aid, Child Protection, and Food Hygiene certificate.
This is a permanent position.
Suitable early years educators are to work alongside the room leader/deputy to ensure that all children attending the setting receive high-quality care, are kept safe, and receive rich and stimulating play experiences that meet their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide and monitor high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources, and experiences offered to children.
2. Observe, support, and extend children's learning through planning appropriately for children using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.
3. Maintain accurate and effective children’s records.
4. Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
5. Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.
6. Work with the Childcare and Education team to continuously improve the quality of childcare and education.
7. Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand, and when necessary follow, Safeguarding Procedures.
8. Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with.
9. Work with area SENCOs, EYFS advisors, health professionals, and local Sure Start programmes as appropriate.
10. Comply with the Statutory Framework for the EYFS.
11. Develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with advisory teachers, schools, area SENCOs, and other agencies that may visit the setting.
12. Learn about current developments in childcare.
13. Be a Key Person, and support other Key Persons, carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families.
14. Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety, and cleanliness throughout the nursery, whilst ensuring the staff team also fulfil their responsibilities.
15. Ensure the general cleanliness of the children at all times.
16. Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures and monitor other staff members’ performance.
17. Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures e.g., fire precautions, security, dropping off and collection of children.
18. Operate the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the bedding and nappy changing area and food surface areas.
19. Be responsible for participating in all self-development activities including appraisals, supervisions, staff meetings, etc.
20. Develop and promote parental partnership and involvement.
21. Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by line management.
22. Adhere to all company policies and procedures and monitor and manage other staff members’ deliverance.
23. Ensure the company’s policies on diversity and equal opportunities are adhered to.
