Job Title: Global Trade Operations Export Specialist
Location: Glenrothes (On-site during training and then 1-2 days a week on site).
Summary of Role
Raytheon UK is seeking a Global Trade Operations Export Specialist who will be responsible for providing guidance on export activities and assist in managing all aspects of UK Export/Import and US regulatory requirements related to Raytheon UK day-to-day shipping activities. This role will report into the Global Trade Export, Import and Compliance Team Leader.
Main Duties
1. Generate all essential shipping and customs documentation to ensure compliance with United Kingdom Export/Import regulations.
2. Ensure compliance with United States and other countries' Export/Import regulations.
3. Complete all export/import transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
4. Act as point of contact for the business on all export/import shipping transactions.
5. Build relations and interface with Raytheon UK Program Managers, Supply Chain Management, Commercial, Finance, and Freight Forwarders.
6. Undertake import checks for licensing approvals and customs requirements.
7. Manage and maintain all documents required to support the export of controlled goods.
8. Ensure proper and accurate recordkeeping in accordance with all export and import regulatory requirements.
9. Handle and analyze customs declarations for accuracy.
10. Arrange transport by sea, air, and road.
11. Deal with internal customer inquiries related to orders, shipments, and deliveries.
12. Assess and approve visitor clearances.
13. Provide excellent customer service.
14. Assist in monitoring government trade and industry developments.
15. Assist in periodic trade compliance health checks/audits.
16. Support internal and external government audits and inspections.
17. Provide training to the wider GT team and other functional areas.
18. Cover other roles within the department during absences and busy periods.
19. Support specific projects as requested by the Head of Global Trade Operations and GT EXIM Team Leader.
20. Support global trade goals and objectives.
21. Assist in the development and implementation of improved processes using Six Sigma and other lean tools.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
1. Extensive knowledge of U.K. Export Licensing Regulations and shipping procedures.
2. Awareness of the International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
3. Experience in shipping against Open General Export Licences (OGELs) and Standard Individual Export Licences (SIELs).
4. Knowledge of UK Customs Import and Export systems.
5. Understanding of commodity coding and tariff classification.
6. Experience in a compliance-driven environment.
7. High level of speed and accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
8. Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
10. Well-organized and able to multitask.
11. Self-motivated, reliable, and hardworking.
12. Willingness and ability to learn new skills quickly.
13. Strong team player.
Desirable
1. Previous administrative experience in the shipping & logistics sector.
2. Import/export experience and familiarity with customs procedures.
3. Awareness and understanding of Business Agreements.
4. Commercial awareness.
5. Working knowledge of SAP.
