About The Role
We are currently looking for a proactive, highly organised, service focussed individual to fulfil a crucial role in our support staff within our Dispute Resolution team. You will be working closely with both the Head of Dispute Resolution and the Head of Office.
Based in Cardiffand reporting to the Legal Support Manager you will provide in-depth business support to the Partners and fee earners within the team. As a Senior Legal Secretary you will be able to work independently and take on responsibilities including deputising, if appropriate, for the Legal Support Manager. You will also support the implementation of technology or systems changes and act as a coach for more junior members of the team. You will have a significant amount of experience in business support or in the legal sector.
Responsibilities of a Senior Legal Support Assistant include:
•Managing the file opening process for the team
•Being the first point of contact for clients
•Being the first point of contact for any administrative and business support requirements for fee earners, anticipating the teams needs where possible
•Assisting with the preparation of all financial transactions as required.
•Drafting and formatting of letters, documents, and forms
•Preparing correspondence and documents through audio typing and word-processing
•Proactive diary management for allocated fee earners
•Working with the Legal Support Manager, supporting the implementation of new technology, systems or process changes
•Creating a culture of continuous improvement in the team
•Be a role model for the legal support team, coaching more junior members and helping induct new members to the team
About You
As a Senior Legal Support Assistant, you will have:
•Experience within a legal environment / professional services environment
•Strong legal administration experience
•Experience in case management systems
•Experience of working in a client facing environment.
•Broad knowledge of administrative tasks in legal practices.
•Sound knowledge of IT skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams, Zoom, etc.
•Excellent attention to detail in all aspects of your work
•Strong communication and organisation skills
•A desire for continuous learning and professional development
