Role Overview: We are looking for a Mid-Level Industrial Automation Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in industrial automation, with a solid understanding of PLC systems, SCADA, and HMI. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across multiple industries, including Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, and Water, managing internal projects and contributing to the development of innovative automation solutions. Key Responsibilities: Automation Systems: Design, implement, and optimize industrial automation systems for various industries. Project Management: Manage internal projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery. PLC Programming: Work with Mitsubishi or Rockwell PLCs to develop and maintain automation systems. Technical Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for automation systems and equipment. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to improve and maintain automation systems. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry-specific safety certifications, such as CCNSG, EUSR, and Water Passport, especially for water-related projects. Preferred Candidate Profile: Experience Level: 5-10 years of experience in industrial automation. Technical Skills: Expertise in Mitsubishi or Rockwell PLCs (or similar). Experience with SCADA, HMI systems, and industrial control systems. Industry Background: Water industry experience (Thames or Southern Water preferred). Manufacturing experience, particularly in Automotive, Logistics, Amazon, or bespoke machinery. Certifications: Safety certifications such as CCNSG, EUSR, or Water Passport for water projects. Team Structure: Current Team: 1 Apprentice Engineer 2 Junior Engineers (to be expanded to 3 by April 7th) 4 Senior Engineers (1 of whom is due for promotion) Hiring Need: Mid-Level Automation Engineers to complement the existing team and strengthen project delivery capabilities. Hiring Process: 1. Initial Interview: 30-minute Teams interview with Technical Lead to assess team fit and initial technical understanding. 2. Final Interview: Face-to-face interview with a hands-on technical assessment to evaluate practical skills and problem-solving abilities. Key Skills Assessed: Software Expertise: Proficiency with SCADA, HMI systems, and industrial automation software. PLC Knowledge: Extensive experience with Mitsubishi or Rockwell PLCs, or similar systems.
