Key Skills Required for This Role
Previous experience as an Estimator working on gas services and mains replacement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analysing and compiling data to prepare accurate cost estimates for tenders.
* Reviewing specifications and conducting detailed take-offs.
* Communicating with internal teams and suppliers to gather necessary information.
* Preparing comprehensive reports and presenting estimates to management.
* Ensuring all estimates align with industry standards and company policies.
* Collaborating with project managers and engineers to develop cost-effective solutions.
* Reviewing and incorporating changes in project scope or design into estimates.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and supplier practices.
Job Requirements:
* Experience in estimating within the gas mains and services replacement sector.
* Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
* Understanding of tender processes and financial documentation.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills.
* Excellent communication and report writing abilities.
* Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects.
* Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in estimating or related fields.
