Job Description
The Project Planner will track project performance, provide regular updates to stakeholders, and manage resource allocation and potential risks. \n \nThe role involves applying project control processes, including Earned Value Management (EVM) and Critical Path Analysis (CPA), while ensuring best practices are followed. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in planning tools like MSP or Primavera P6, and experience in aerospace and defence industries are essential for success in this role.
\n\nKey Responsibilities \n\nAccountable for the quality and integrity of project plans and schedule analysis in terms of time, cost and resources \n\nCompile reports to ensure project manager and team has up to date and accurate information \n\nVerify the maintenance and accuracy of project plans, ensuring that they reflect the project objectives, are updated in a timely manner and communicated at all relevant levels \n\nTrack project performance to ensure project data accuracy on a weekly and monthly basis \n\nWork with cross functional teams to support the planning process \n\nManage and communicate issues to relevant stakeholders \n\nEffective resource planning, determining the project requirements and planning for these accordingly including proactive management and resolution of resourcing issues and conflicts \n\nPlanning and project control processes through regular project control reviews \n\nApplication and reporting of EVM & CPA \n\nUnderstanding Risk and Opportunity management and maintenance \n\nThe implementation of best practice tools and processes to drive planning improvements \n\nSupport bids and proposal planning \n \nSkills, Qualification and Experience \n\nPreferably degree qualified or suitable relevant qualification (APM certification) \n\nFull understanding and experience of the APM Body of Knowledge \n\nPreferably a full member of the APM \n\nProven experience in project planning, preferably within the aerospace and defence industry \n\nUnderstanding of Planning structures and principles (WBS, PBS - Product Breakdown Structure) \n\nAdvanced IT skills and proficient in the use of MSP and or equivalent planning tools Primavera P6 \n\nWorking experience of Lifecycle Management (LCM) \n\nProven track record in EVM, CPA, and QSRA \n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills \n\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills \n\nAbility to work effectively in a team and lead cross-functional collaborations \n\nFamiliarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards in aerospace and defence \n\nExperience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous \n\nExperience in the Naval / Maritime domain would be advantageous. \n \nCompany overview: \n\nWant to work for a successful business, who develop advanced specialist systems to deliver warfighting edge in the modern maritime and underwater battlespace? \n\n The company have a number of awards, most recently been named as an Award winner (Gold Award) in MoD Defence Employer Recognition Scheme!
