About the role
This part-time roadside assistant position is to attend and repair vehicles (buses) on the road and any other duties that are deemed suitable by the engineering manager.
Key Accountabilities:
* Attend and repair breakdowns
* Carry out changeovers & minor repairs on the roadside
* Booking out parts when required
* Working within health and safety regulations
* Deliver a high standard of repair/temp repair to get bus back to depot
* Ensure an effective working relationship with staff
* Complete accurate breakdown records, keeping paperwork up to date and filled in correctly
* Carry out any other duties that may be deemed suitable by the engineering manager
Shift to be discussed at interview stage as it is on a 3-week rotational.
Hourly pay rate: £13.85
Total hours per week: 38 hrs.
About you
* Do you hold a valid clean UK driver's licence?
* Are you a UK resident and can you prove Right to Work (RtW)?
* You must have mechanical knowledge with breakdown skills and experience.
* You must have at minimum a level 2 mechanic qualification (semi-skilled mechanic)
* You do not have to hold a PCV licence, but that would be advantageous; we will help you obtain it if not.
