Senior Development Surveyor
Job Description Summary
We are currently looking for a Surveyor or Senior Surveyor in Bristol, as part of our Midlands and Southwest Development & Planning team. The team is part of our national Development and Strategic Advisory business and advises clients in the public and private sectors on a variety of strategic projects, focusing on regeneration projects in a mixed-use development context.
These instructions include repurposing assets, brownfield development, disposals, urban regeneration projects, town centre development, urban extensions & new garden settlements and infrastructure-led development.
The role of the Surveyor/ Senior Surveyor will be to support the team’s work, predominantly across the South West and South Wales, whilst supporting the wider national teams as required in the Midlands, South East and London.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Advising on the strategy and disposal of development sites specialising in complex brownfield sites.
2. Providing commercial input into master planning processes and delivery strategies, covering land assembly, planning, disposal, and procurement.
3. Contributing to property demand and feasibility studies to assess and shape the deliverability of development, regeneration, and repurposing projects.
4. Conducting research on residential and commercial property markets to inform market reports and broader insights.
5. Producing development appraisals and viability reports, on behalf of public and private sector clients to inform development and delivery strategies, determine grant funding requirements, or support planning viability assessments.
6. Assisting in the procurement and structuring of development agreements and partnerships.
7. Supporting advisory work on the design, management, and delivery of regeneration projects.

1. Proven ability to handle complex client instructions.
2. Strong client relationship-building and networking skills.
3. Technical competence in relevant areas.
4. Knowledge of the real estate industry sector, specific South West experience beneficial, but not essential.
