Royal Holloway, University of London is embarking on a journey to redefine and repurpose our existing campus security service. This is to better align with the wider EDI based cultural and stakeholder requirements presenting on campus and across the sector. We are looking to recruit a tried, tested and experienced Head of Service who will lead this strategic change piece and enable the service to better deliver a safe, inclusive and secure campus, positively and actively engaged with its stakeholders, delivering a sense of belonging to all staff and students, whilst being open and welcoming to our visitors.
Following a number of reviews and consultations we are looking to recruit an experienced professional either from a security background in an HEI or similar environment, or with significant positive security based change management experience, who has the vision and drive to develop and evolve this service going forward.
The post holder should have a proven track record of innovative thinking and be known for challenging the norms, utilising appropriate engagement and consultation tools in the development of their teams.
The post holder will need to have had substantial experience in people, procedural and team change management, along with detailed knowledge and experience of developing and maintaining modern and up to date standards of performance in an increasingly digital environment which can match the ever changing social and legislative requirements placed on the service.
The post holder will be experienced in the production and development of risk-based site security planning and its interaction with the wider organisational business continuity plans. It is also essential that the post holder is able to proactively work with other colleagues in the continuous improvement modelling of these services delivered to enhance the staff, student and visitor experience.
The post holder should have a full working knowledge and experience in the implementation and development of EDI initiatives and policies.
