We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Part-Time Financial Account Manager/Controller to manage our financial operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth running of our financial processes, from invoicing and payments to payroll and VAT returns. The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks and possess a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.
The role is for 3 days per week which are flexible. Salary is calculated pro-rata.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Invoicing: Generate and issue sales invoices accurately and promptly. Manage invoice queries from customers.
2. Payments: Process supplier invoices, ensuring timely payment and accurate record-keeping. Reconcile supplier statements.
3. Payroll: Manage the monthly payroll process, including calculating salaries, deductions, and PAYE. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
4. QuickBooks: Maintain accurate records within QuickBooks and compose invoices, ensuring data integrity and efficient use of the software.
5. Bookkeeping: Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
6. VAT Returns: Prepare and submit accurate and timely VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
7. Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
8. Other Tasks: Assist with ad-hoc finance projects and tasks as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proven experience in a similar financial accounting role, ideally with experience in all areas listed above.
2. Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software is essential.
3. Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
4. Experience with payroll processing (or oversight of a payroll provider).
5. Knowledge of VAT regulations and experience preparing VAT returns and RCCIS.
6. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Strong organisational and time-management skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
