Second Step is a leading mental health charity in the South West. They offer housing, support and hope to thousands of people with mental health and complex needs, inspiring hope and delivering change for everybody they work with. As part of the Open Mental Health Alliance, the charity work with other mental health organisations in Somerset to ensure that there is “no wrong door” for those wishing to access mental health support. This exciting opportunity will see the post-holder become part of a developing service working alongside a wider team of VCFSE partners and NHS colleagues as part of this Alliance. Using a holistic approach, they will support the voluntary sector component of the partnership, delivering support and interventions in conjunction with NHS teams as part of a client’s person-centred rehabilitation. The aim is to deliver recovery and well-being opportunities for people with mental health and other support needs to achieve their hopes and ambitions. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ significant experience working with people with moderate to severe mental health needs, as well as experience of working with people who have experienced multiple disadvantages. An understanding of psychologically informed practice, and knowledge of welfare benefits and the social care sector, would be an advantage. Due to the nature of the role, travel across the county can be expected. To find out more, or to apply, please visit Second Step’s website.
