Responsibilities:
* Demonstrating commitment to safe practices and a command of health, safety and environmental topics related to hazardous material.
* Conduct required environmental inspections as assigned.
* Monitor waste satellite accumulation areas at specified client locations, and schedule waste disposal shipments as required to ensure compliance requirements are met.
* Coordinate and participate in the preparation, transport and/or receipt of hazardous waste.
* Track waste characterization and shipping document retention requirements. Utilize specified software/document tracking system; provide reports to Waste SME as required.
* Manage waste-related activities in coordination with client standards
* Understand protocols and hazards associated with applicable chemicals and manage situations involving accidental spillage or release.
* Provide a weekly activity report to the client engagement manager.
* Comply with federal state, local regulations as well as client policy and procedures.
* Provide regulatory interpretation and technical guidance for environmental topics.
* Anticipates and assists in preventing environmental events.
* Position will potentially require overnight, extended travel. Company vehicle and gas will be provided only for work travel from work site to work site (not to be used for non-work-related travel)
Requirements:
* HAZWOPER 40 certification with a HAZWOPER 8 refresher course in last 12 months.
* 5-9 years' experience with environmental spills & cleanup
* Strong communication skills with various personnel at various sites
* Strong PC skills
* Ideal candidate would be local to Garner, NC
