About The Role
We are looking to offer a Trainee Lifting Equipment Examiner the opportunity to join our expanding Specialist Plant & Equipment team based in Newton, Nottinghamshire .
About the team
The team are responsible for maintaining a large volume of lifting equipment for issue to various projects across the UK.
Based at our National Distribution Centre in Nottingham, we provide and maintain approx. 90,000 assets to various overhead powerline projects throughout the UK.
About the role
You will prepare, inspect and certify lifting and other specialist equipment in line with LOLER and PUWER regulations against a site request. Always ensuring that all items are booked out of the warehouse to the correct site. In liaison with the STE Office team, working to strict deadlines.

As the Trainee Lifting Equipment Examiner, you’ll get the opportunity to:
1. Inspect equipment that has been returned to from site, identifying damage. Ensuring that all items are booked in to the warehouse in liaison with the STE Office team, working to strict deadlines.
2. Carry out and certify scheduled on-site inspections of equipment in line with LOLER and PUWER Regulations in liaison with the STE Office team. This involves staying away from home across the UK, often at short notice.
3. Actively participate in all safety and improvement initiatives as required. Including Time Out For Safety, Daily Risk Assessments, Housekeeping Audits, Safety Leadership Team, Accountability Meetings and the Permit to Work system.
4. Load and unload vehicles taking equipment to and from construction sites, including articulated lorries, using Fork Lift Trucks and Telehandler’s.
