We are recruiting on behalf of a client for a highly organised and proactive Property and Planning Administrator. This key role will support the Property team and management in delivering administrative assistance for planning projects, ensuring efficient coordination of consultants, clients, and suppliers. You will play a crucial part in helping secure planning permissions and manage project timelines, all while maintaining excellent communication across multiple stakeholders.
Salary: £27,000 per annum (pro-rata for a 6-month contract, with potential for extension)
Contract Type: 6-month contract (full-time, 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the Property team in providing administrative assistance to secure planning permissions.
2. Coordinate with consultants, clients, and suppliers to gather and update information relevant to planning projects.
3. Provide direct support to senior team members, including the Managing Director, Construction Director, and Commercial Manager.
4. Assist in the procurement process by obtaining quotes and placing orders with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
5. Ensure efficient filing, both electronic and hard copy, and maintain organised records for planning projects.
6. Attend meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items and task lists.
7. Answer calls and manage messages confidently, providing a high level of service to clients and stakeholders.
8. Provide general administrative support to the Property team and assist with other office tasks as required.
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (for document creation, spreadsheets, and timelines).
2. Strong administrative skills with experience in handling multiple tasks and priorities.
3. Ability to attend meetings, take minutes, and manage follow-up actions.
4. Good understanding of the planning permission process, with the ability to navigate relevant portals and websites.
5. Ability to coordinate and manage procurement processes for consultants and suppliers.
6. A confident communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with different stakeholders.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
1. A general understanding of planning permission processes and related technical reports (e.g., drainage, landscaping, ecology, etc.).
2. Understanding of technical reports related to planning (e.g., drainage, trees, contamination, highways, etc.).
3. Ability to read and interpret architect plans and identify constraints or concerns within planning permissions.
4. Experience in negotiating and comparing consultant fee proposals, presenting findings to management.
